We did continue to learn about the Rain forest. In computers with Mrs. Selby's help we are each researching our own creature from the rain forest. We started this today and will continue to work on it next week.
The students published their fictional narratives on the computers this week. They are really great stories, I'm so proud of how much their writing has improved throughout the school year. However, many of the students really need some key boarding practice. Mrs. Selby has several typing practice games on the schools websites. It would be great practice for them.
We continued to discuss the changes that occurred in San Francisco when gold was found in the area in the 1800's. This week the kids learned about groups of people who traveled to San Francisco and why. They worked in small groups to act out these group of settlers, we learned quite a bit from this activity.
