Fire Prevention!

This week we had a visit from the Woodbury Heights Fire Department and the students learned about fire prevention.  The firemen showed the kids what a fireman looks like with all their gear on, this was to prepare them encase someone from the fire department has to enter your home due to a fire. They also had the opportunity to look at the firetruck with all of it's life saving equipment.  If you have not already made an escape plan with your family this might be a good weekend to this.

Here are some of the other things we did this week:
  • We have continued to learn about making connections and we worked on distinguishing fantasy from realistic fiction.
  • We began learning about different types of BOLD BEGINNINGS!  Ask them about the two we have learned about so far.
  • In math we have continued to work on strategies for addition and subtraction.  Please practice the fact triangles at home.  Ask your child about the explorations we had today.
  • In Social Studies we continued to explore the differences between Urban, Suburban and Rural communities.
  • In Science this week we made twirlers.
REMINDER!!!! PARENT VISITATION DAY IS ON MONDAY FOR MY CLASS ONLY!

Have a wonderful weekend, hope to see you all on Monday!!
