Questions?????

Hi Families,
It was so nice to have a whole week of school!  Here is a little glimpse of our week:

• In literacy we have been reading a book about the moon.  The kids have really enjoyed learning a little about the phases of the moon.  We have also used this same book to work on the comprehension strategy of asking questions.  This book lends itself to ask many questions and asking questions about our reading can lead to a deeper understanding of the topic.  We also used this same book to explore plot.  Ask your child what the plot of a book is made up of, they should know the answers. (Problem, Important Event, and Solution)
• Mental Math is such and important skill and in Unit 4 we spend a lot of time learning different strategies to improve out mental math skills.  Next week we will finish this unit. Please continue to practice addition and subtraction with the fact triangles at home.
• The students had a blast making runways in science this week.  Ask them about this amazing activity.

Next week, we will be working on letter writing and determining the importance of what we read.  Don't forget FRIDAY DECEMBER 7 is an early dismissal day!!! Have a good weekend!
