Wonders!!!

As the letter home mentioned this week Mrs. Wells and I started a new reading program.  So far the children really have enjoyed the informational text that we have read this week.  We read several pieces of writing about different parts of the world.  This lead to fantastic discussions about what makes different parts of the world different.  Ask your child about the different regions and locations that we read about this week.  We worked a lot on finding the main topic of the reading and the details that support that topic.  This program is an adjustment for all of us so please be patient with our transition.

The students studied words with silent letters this week.  I am honored to tell you that every child spelled the words correctly on a pop quiz today!  Bravo!!!

We have wrapped up our solids, liquids and gasses unit.  After the spring break we will begin a unit on the rain forest.  This is always a fun and creative unit that I enjoy teaching.

A quick reminder that Wednesday and Thursday of next week are 12:45 dismissal days due to conferences.  Also spring break begins on Friday, March 29.  Have a super weekend!
