This week we focused a lot on why communities grow and why people may leave a community. We made a community called Taylor Town this week. Our community included many interesting places like a water park, zoo, hospital and even an airport. Each student added a place to our growing community. It was a beautiful place to live, then the airport closed. This took many jobs out of Taylor Town and people began to move. Business also began to close because people were not using these business. We talked a lot about why people would leave Taylor Town. Next week we will discuss how we can bring Taylor Town back to a place were people want to live and work.
In Science we did a fun experiment in which we filled a balloon with a gas. We watched a cute video about what a gas is and we will continue to discuss gasses next week. We have a fun game planned about solid, liquids and gasses.
During Literacy we continued to talk about money and how people earn and save money. We read an information text called "Off To Work". I hope that students will have a better understanding of how to earn and save their money.
We began to write about how to catch a Leprechaun in Jar. We brainstormed on Wednesday. Today and Monday we hope to finish this piece of writing. Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!
