I'm sure your kids are telling you how much I talked today. My throat is soar from me doing so much talking, but that will not be the case everyday. Of course today was about establishing rules and introducing routines. We are striving to be a "Great" class this year and here is a picture of a poster we made today that explains what a "Great Classmate" is, does, says and is not.
We read the book "First Day Jitters" this morning. Ask your child what the surprise ending was. After reading this, the kids were given "Jitter Juice" to calm their nerves, must of them didn't like it. Shh it was just sparkling water! We took a survey which you will find in their red folder we also completed an activity about their feelings on the first day. I even shared with them how I still after all theses years get Jitters on the first day of school and have a hard time sleeping the night before.
Here are some pictures of the classroom. Today we each put at least 5 books into our book boxes so that when we come in on Monday we can grab that box and start to read. It was a fantastic start to the year!! I hope that you all enjoy the weekend!
