Cinderella

This week we read several different versions of Cinderella stories.  We compared and contrasted the version along with discussing the different points of view.  Each story was alike but different and unique in its own way.  We started with the classic that we all know and then read versions that came from China, the Carribean, and Egypt.  We also read some funny ones like "Dinorella" and "Chickrella".  Today we read "Seriously, Cinderella is so Annoying" this story is from the step mothers point of view.

 In math we continued to review. Next week we will review as well.  The students took their final timed math test today and they all did a fantastic job.  As a reward for their hard work all year.  We are officially done with homework for the remainder of the school year.  I'm very pleased with the improvement that they all made throughout the school year.  Please make sure they do some sort of math practice over the summer to keep them sharp.  There are plenty of free math game web sites and even free printable sheets to be found.

Just a reminder that next Friday will the be the schools official field day.  Make sure you child has sun screen on that day.
