Wriggly Squiggly!

Our second week of school has been another great week!  We continue to be busy with learning our new routines, we get a little better each day.   We read a funny book this week called Wriggly Squiggly! Ask your children about the book.  We will continue to use this book next week to see how the author uses  imagery and rhyme.

This week with our Daily 5 routine we learned how to read with someone.  Ask the kids what the following mean and you can practice at home:
  1.  EEKK
  2. Check for Understanding
  3. I read you read
  4. Read two Books
During Writing Workshop this week we worked on not being a noisy neighbor.  So far so good.   In Science we have continued learning about balance and next week we will move onto motion.  Students should know the terms balance point and counter weights.  Our first unit in math continues to review skills from first grade.  We will finish this unit up next week with an assessment on Wednesday.  I also plan to give the first spelling assessment next week too.

REMINDERS!!!
Please send in pictures by Wednesday so that we can make our inspirations boards!
TEAM WHES is every Wednesday, don't forget to have the kids wear their shirts!

Have a wonderful weekend!
