Happy Holidays!!!

Our friend "Buddy" the elf has traveled all over the glob this week.  This week we learned about Sweden, Canada, USA (which we already knew a lot about) and Mexico.  Buddy must have been really tired from all that travel this week because he stayed in one spot two whole days.  The kids were really worried that he had lost his power, they thought that maybe someone had touched him.  But he seems to be fine now and has hopped around the room.  Here are few pictures of "Buddy" from the week.
This is the spot he spent 2 whole days!
See he really did travel the whole globe!
We can't figure out how he is just hovering in this one spot.

We really enjoyed this mission for Santa.  The kids learned so much about celebrations around the world and we had wonderful conversations about the traditions that we each have with our families.

In math this week we learned about parallel lines, quadrangles and 3-dimensional shapes.  We will continue with some more geometry lessons in the New Year.

We are finishing up the book The World According to Humphrey.  We meet with our book buddies from Mrs. Sharrow's class this week.  The groups were assigned a character from the book to illustrate, they did an awesome job. Here a few pictures from the students.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful break!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
