This week we had a fantastic assembly that Mrs. Fletcher our guidance counselor arranged about setting goals. A basketball player by the name of Black Jack Ryan entertained us but shared with the students all the hard work and practice he did in order to accomplish his goals of being a professional basketball player and a Harlem Globtrotter. Here are a few pictures from our assemble.
This week our essential question in Literacy was, "What happens when families work together?" We read several pieces of expository text that were about families and how they can accomplish more when they work together. Next week will be a review week for Unit 1. The students will take a unit assessment on Thursday and Friday of next week. The students will read two stories and answer questions about the stories and skills we have worked on the past few weeks. They will also have a question that must be answered in writing.
In Science we moved onto rollers this week. The kids made ramps and used disks and straws to make different types of rollers. They had a blast with this yesterday and we will continue to explore more rollers next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
