Our essential question this week was "Why are rules important?". This week tied in very nicely with Social Studies. We read about why towns and government have rules. Through our reading we also learned about The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. We discussed the importance of rules and laws and how we have them to keep people safe.
A lot of our writing and Science time this week was used for the Mother's Day goodies that the kids will be giving you. I must say they really put a lot of thought and energy into these surprises. I almost cried reading a few of their pieces I hope that you are touched by them too.
In Math this week we learned about area and began talking about fractions. We will continue with more of these lessons next week.
During Spanish this week Senorita Rodriguez celebrated Cinco De Mayo with the students. She shared chips and salsa with the classes.
