Meet Shadow!!

This is a picture of Shadow!  Shadow is a friendly bat who has been visiting our classroom.  He leaves messages for us and we write back to him using the friendly letter format.  Shadow has a twin brother visiting Mrs. Wells classroom.  The kids really like the messages that Shadow leaves and they are doing wonderful job of writing letters back to him.  However, Shadow has left a few messes in our classroom.  I'm hoping he doesn't get into to much trouble over this rainy weekend.

Our essential question this week was "How do we care for animal?".  We read about four different types of veternarians.  Many of the students were surprised by how many different types of vets there are.  Ask them about the four types of vets. We worked with finding important detials in what we reading and asking questions for meaning.

In Math we moved onto subtraction strategies.  We will continue with more subtraction strategies next week.

Yesterday in Science we made tops.  We are starting to explore how objects move.  The kids really enjoyed discovery how to use disks and straws to make tops.  We will continue with this next week.

In Social Studies we are learning about different types of communities.  We have been introduced to urban, suburban and rural communities.

Good luck staying dry this weekend!!
