This week our essential question was "What can you see in the sky?". We read and discussed eclipses. Students really had some good opportunities to build their knowledge of the sun and the moon. We worked on understanding the sequence of stories. This week was busy we also had two days of map testing in the computer lab.
We read about and discussed the accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students had a wonderful discussion about what the world should be like and they each wrote a dream that they had. Here are a few pictures.
In math we worked on learning partial sums. The first lesson was tough, but the next lesson I felt that students did much better. Next week we will transition into learning the traditional algorithm, we will be regrouping. Thanks for you patience with this new math program.
This week in Social Studies we went in depth learning and recognizing landforms. Students made landform posters this week. Here are a few pictures.
In Science students continue to learn about the properties of matter. They had the opportunity to compare several different solids this week.
Don't forget that Monday is a MLK Day, so NO SCHOOL!! Enjoy the long weekend!
