How to do we take care of the Earth?

This weeks stories were great!  They all had to do with ways in which we can protect the Earth.  Since today is Earth day this was a great topic for the week.  We read about how a group of children used recycle materials to complete and art project.  Another story that we read was about how a whole community came together to decorate wood carvings that were made from a tree that fell down in the center of the their town.  As we read this week we made predictions and found the problem and solution to stories.

In Math we finished up with adding 3 digit numbers and today we started with subtraction.  We will continue to work with subtraction for the next week or so.  Continue to practice math facts at home with your children.

In Science we finished up our habitat reports and presented them to the classes.  We started to work on an Earth Day project that we will continue with next week.

In Social Studies, we pantomine people in service  jobs.  Students worked with a partner to create their ppantomine and presented them to the class.

In Writing we wrote about our favorite books.  The kids did a great job of writing about their favorite books.  Hopefully some of us have some good new recommendations.

Have a wonderful weekend!
