Imagination!

This week in Literacy our imaginations took over!!  We read several poems and stories in which imagination was the main theme.  Students worked on understanding characters points of view.  We would look for clues within the text and then discuss what we thought their point of view.  This was our last unit in our wonders program.  For the rest of the year we will read Charlotte's Web and continue to  work on the skills we have learned this school year with different activities and assignments.

In Math we have moved on to data, and graphing.  We have had two lessons on line plot graphs and interpreting this data.  We will move onto bar graphs next week.

In Social Studies we are exploring how communities change over time and the reasons for which they change.  This week students were given a group like 'People with Pets' and in a small group of classmates they each came up with something that group would like to see in their community.  Next week we will look at reasons why a community my shrink.

Mrs. Wells' had students work on a STEM activity in which they had to make the longest possible paper chain with one piece of paper.  Students worked with a partner.  It was very interesting to see how they thought this process out.  Here are is a picture.
