This week student research weather related topics. We used books and online resources to gather information. Students are still working on finishing the writing of their reports. Topics included tornados, hurricans, clouds etc... I'm impressed with their abilites to gather this information on their own, this is not easy for 2nd graders.
In math we continue to work on money and have now added telling time to our lessons. With so many digital clocks available it is very difficult for students to tell time on an analog clock. We focused on the different ways to say time like quarter past, quarter to, and half past. Many students were not familiar with these terms.
In Social Studies we learned about the great Rosa Parks and Ruby Bridges. We read stories and made time lines and including a flip book about Ruby Bridges.
