In literacy our essential question was 'How do people get along?' This was a great reminder for this time of year. The skills we worked on this week included characters point of view and summarizing. We also had some fun with idioms. Idioms are a form of figurative language, each story we read this week had a least one idiom that we needed to identify. Students are doing a great job with being able to identify a characters point of view and how that might change through out a story.
In writing we are working on publishing the reviews that we have been writing for the past several weeks. We signed up for some extra time in the computer lab to type and print our favorite reviews.
In Social Studies we finished up our unit of the environment and we are now moving onto learning about goods. Next week we'll have some fun showing how a factory works.
In math we have moved onto 3digit subtraction. We will continue with more methods for subtracting next week. The class is really showing a lot of improvement with their math facts, I'm so proud of them all.
